Rehearsal Evalution
I personally think I did alright as a camera operator, I was focusing on the host. I followed all orders that the director gave and quietly voiced any concerns I had during the rehearsal (like when one of the contestants was in directly in my shot). Before the show I wasn't sure how to turn the camera on but I was shown how to before the rehearsal, all the camera operators also had to match the VAR to 4050. During the rehearsal I sometimes zoomed in despite that not being in the script, this is something I was criticised for in the meeting. Next rehearsal I won't zoom in unless told to by the director. Another problem that happened was that around the end of the rehearsal, the camera's SD card was full. I didn't tell the director at the time because I was unsure what it meant but I know now that if it happens next time I have to tell the director on comm's so that we can cut to fix that
The rehearsal wasn't too bad, we ended up being over schedule by around 10 minutes though. There were a few problems with the rehearsal but we were able to finish the entire show. Because the projector showed the script, in the first round the contestants were able to read off the answers. In the next rehearsal this definitely has to be changed as this was the reason why the contestants kept laughing in the rehearsal. The higher or lower round went on for too long, which may have been one of the major reasons why we went overtime. When the contestants had to leave the set because they were voted out they didn't know where to go so they went in different directions, for example one of them walked in the middle of one of the cameras. The third round was also really complicated to film for multiple reasons. The boxes weren't on set when we were "live" so we had to push them to the middle of the floor, because of this the contestants had to move down on the floor but the cameras and lighting weren't set for that. The round was also confusing and not good to film, so the round might have to be scrapped or heavily changed
The projector worked (but will need to be tweaked later) and for the most part everyoe did fine as their roles. The contestants understood what to do for the rounds other than being a bit confused at the beginning of round three. Other than being unprepared for the 3rd round and at around the end of the show where the SD cards were full, the lighting and cameras were fine throughout the rehearsal
Daily Diary 15/03
Today I took part in our first rehearsal for the game show
Despite going 10 minutes over the original schedule time, I think it's better being over schedule than under it. The cuts in the script are also obvious to solve as the main problem was how long the higher or lower round took and how long the contestants had to talk
Rehearsal Meeting 2

Live Show

Daily Diary 16/03
Today I took part in the second rehearsal and the live show. Tomorrow I'll be editing the footage, I'll also have to transfer the stills and camera 2 footage
The live show was fine, a lot of the problems (the projector showing the trivia answers, the higher/lower round being too long, the contestants not knowing where to go, the third round not working at all) were changed by the time we did the live show (the host had cue cards for the trivia round, the higher/lower round was cut in half, the contestants were told where to go before the live show and the third round was slightly changed from before)
The second rehearsal still had a lot of mistakes happen in it though. The higher/lower round was still six rounds so we had to cut halfway through it because of time, there was a mistake in how the third round worked, in the final round the boxes didn't face the camera first and the host also went off script multiple times throughout the rehearsal. As said before, these were all fixes we were able to fix before the live show
I did fine for my role and it was good that I got it because I didn't have much experience with cameras. I followed every order given by directors, I was asked before we continued recording to zoom in with the host for the third round and I did. I'm not really confident with them yet still nor am I interested in camerawork as a job but it was good practice
