Daily Diary 21/02
Today I worked on changing my brochure and poster designs briefly after the feedback I was given about it last week. I want to try and finish those changes before having more audience feedback on my work
I'm not done with my poster designs after today like I planned, but I still have time on them. I'll try to work on the bracelets at home. I'm currently trying to work with the feedback I was given by one of the designers

Daily Diary 22/02
Today I worked on changing my magazine and brochure since I can't do that at home. I feel like I'm running out of time a bit since I still haven't officially started on my posters yet (and I only have one draft of the two made currently) so I'll likely have to come on Friday to finish everything
I'm still working with the feedback from Maria Shuvanova. I changed some of the things they advised changing (I increased the size of the map on the brochure, started changing the QR code bracelet to look more similar to the map and deciding on a set theme for my portfolio. I decided to go with space - stars, ufos - since I already have a bracelet design with that theme). I sent my current drafts of everything to them and to Firuza Azizova, but I'm not expecting to get a response on time from them. I also posted my designs on r/graphic_design asking for feedback, but I have to request a moderator of the subreddit to make my post public and I don't know how long that'll take
I feel better about my brochure after the changes and don't plan to work on it much tomorrow since its mostly done and I haven't made much of a start on my posters yet. I'm unhappy with the magazine design currently and feel like its very bland, I'm planning on adding illustrations to fill in the dead space but I'm unsure how much that'll really help
While writing my emails back to the designers, I had another idea for a poster. I could do another illustration of space with an astronaut or rocket flying in the background (the colours would mainly be black and white so its not too similar with the other poster design)

Daily Diary 23/02
Today I spent all day on my posters, I've finished one and I'm almost finished with the second one. I'll have to come in tomorrow to finish it and the magazine
I was originally going to finish my magazine today but I got an idea for my first poster so I did that instead. I really like how both of my posters have turned out, especially the first one

Feedback from Designers
I was able to finish the magazine and last poster, but I had to adjust it slightly for printing during Open Day (Saturday). Since I got feedback from both designers on Friday, I was also able to make some changes to it before resending the files to the printers
They were referring to the flag that was in a draft I sent them (above Diary 22/02). I didn't end up using it because I couldn't access this file on most computers in the college (if I tried to open it it'd say that the file was made with an updated version of InDesign and that I can't edit on it unless I download the update, which I can't because of admin restrictions) but I was unhappy with it so I don't consider it as a loss

I ended up changing the font to be the same throughout all text highlighted, when remaking my magazine I also did the same. They also said to either add a bit of space between the map columns or add it on top of the existing one, I decided to put it on top so it'd look sort of symmetrical to the flags on the left
I was already using three fonts for the portfolio so I decided to leave them be, especially when one of the ones I mentioned to them was Tahoma (a default font that I was using for body text). I ended up adding some space related illustrations around the picture like they said to do purely to make it look more in line with the space theme I had with the rest of my portfolio
I ended up changing the dates on the magazine to be smaller due to this feedback, since I wasn't sure I liked how it looked either
I didn't end up going with a typography focused poster, but I still appreciate the examples they sent me regardless as they can be used for later projects
I didn't get what they meant by the checkerboard looking inconsistent until this email. I agree and think that comparing it to the vector is a little awkward due to how different they are, but I decided not to change it since that's included in the magazine as well and I felt like making the checker pattern a standard one would lessen its appeal
I ended up scaling the UFO and stars in the second bracelet designs later. The last two were still works in progress when I sent them (I was only done with the front of the fourth bracelet and hadn't even started working on the last one), they said to work on the composition but I wasn't really sure how to and felt like if I asked I wouldn't get a response in time. I was planning to work on it anyway though so I'll try to fix it

Daily Diary 28/02
Today I finished my bracelet designs and tried getting audience feedback
I checked the post I made on Reddit but still had no responses, I tried posting on a different subreddit for festivals instead but I'm not very hopeful on that getting any responses either. This is getting worrying as I don't really have feedback from anyone yet, I've gotten compliments on my designs but none of its been recorded or substantial enough for me to use for my evaluation

Today I continued trying to get audience feedback and received my printed copies of my brochure, posters and magazine spread. I'll print out my bracelet designs tomorrow
I still haven't gotten any feedback yet so I'll have to resort to asking friends and random servers I'm in. I don't usually like to do this since I usually don't get much substantial feedback and I wanted responses from my target audience and people who are interested in Parklife (or festivals at the very least), but I need at least something. I still haven't received responses from the designers who helped me through production and I don't imagine I will until the deadlines already passed
I haven't actually seen how my printed brochure and magazine look yet because my brother picked them up for me, but I really like how my printed posters look at least. I got them printed here at the college instead as the poster PDFs I sent to them weren't the right size

Daily Diary 02/03
Today I finished my evaluation and therefore this unit
I overall liked this unit and felt like this was a learning experience, even if I didn't learn exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed designing the bracelets somewhat and the posters and I like how they both came out in print. I still felt like despite that though I definitely could've done better in this unit, I didn't plan enough for it when it came to layout design and didn't really learn much for it like I wanted
I feel like my evaluation might be a bit rushed, but I didn't want to go on for too long due to limited time. I could've went into a lot more detail about things (especially the final designs) but I've ultimately said what was needed in it
